As we prepare for the 2008 World Series of Poker, it's interesting to ponder what this year's field of women poker players might be like. 2007 was a fantastic year for women in poker as we witnessed the creation of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame, and watched a novice player, Sally Anne Boyer, win the 2007 WSOP Ladies Event after attending the WSOP Academy. Several new ladies groups have invaded the Internet and WSOP Circuit events as well.

So we are attempting to build a community for poker enthusiasts. Where does one start? Well we've started playing with an open-source environment, that being Drupal. We've started the process with an existing template and have begun modifying it to our look and feel and needs. Next steps will be to work with existing modules available to the community and run with it. How do we get users to sign-up? That's be all and end all of most social communities! Build and they will come? Well, if we offer great content and flexible user tools - it just may happen.
